About Me
Elizabeth Kromhout, LMFT
Elizabeth Kromhout has spent 15 years in private practice supporting adolescents and their families. Combining academic excellence with genuine passion, she offers a therapeutic approach that is both interactive and deeply empathetic.
Exceptionally driven from a young age, Elizabeth skipped the final two years of high school and began college early. She earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University at just 22 years old. Since 2012, she has maintained a thriving practice—first in Santa Monica and, since 2021, in Dallas.
Elizabeth has a particular affinity for working with families navigating complex challenges. She frequently supports teens who have attended multiple residential treatment programs, those who were adopted and face unique struggles in their teenage years, and families managing medically intricate conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Her ability to connect with adolescents, coupled with her extensive experience guiding parents, makes her a highly sought-after therapist for these sensitive situations.
Working from a holistic perspective, Elizabeth collaborates closely with each client’s broader treatment team—including pediatricians, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, and school psychologists—to ensure integrated care.
For the past two decades, she has studied how physical health and daily habits shape emotional wellbeing. She is always up to date on the latest research regarding mental health and the effects of sleep, nutrition, exercise, time in nature, and light exposure.
Elizabeth believes that the goal in life is not simply to feel happy, but to build the emotional strength to experience the full range of human emotions—and still be okay.
