Hi, I’m Elizabeth Kromhout, licensed psychotherapist and adolescent specialist. I’ve been working almost exclusively with clients age 10 through college graduates since 2012. To share a bit of background, I skipped the last two years of high school and attended college early. I finished graduate school at Pepperdine just after I turned 22. Which means I began seeing clients when I was only 21. I gravitated towards teens back then and I’m still fascinated with that developmental phase. Following graduation I spent 8 years running a thriving private practice on the west side of Los Angeles. I also supervised multiple associates while they gained hours towards licensure. I worked with all different kinds of families and came to understand that the same problem can be perceived very differently through different family values. I believe it’s very important for me to help families understand their situation on the scale of long term severity. If this is a really big deal I will help you think through options. Sometimes I can relieve anxiety by explaining your teens behavior within a developmental framework. I am excited to be new to the Dallas area and I welcome a change of pace. When appropriate, I strongly believe in a holistic approach. I like to see very difficult complex cases and this usually requires working in tandem with other professionals. I’m working to build relationships with pediatricians, psychiatrists, school counselors, and neuropsychologists here in Dallas. I’m used to working closely with many professionals in LA. Feel free to look through my website and videos. If it seems like we could be a good fit, don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you.
